The Balsam Family College runs two courses.
The first level is in Parenting and Home Management and is 10 weeks long running 2 days per week. This is a college for all the family! Children are cared for in a well-equipped crèche while parents are in their tutor group. After a time of group discussion and learning parents then join their children and college staff for family play and shared lunch. This provides the opportunity for parents to put into practice newly found skills and gain encouraging feedback from the college staff.
The second level course is in Personal Growth and Development which seeks to build the confidence and self esteem of parents as individuals. Again, this course is taught in a nurturing and supportive environment for all the family, allowing parents to have some quality time with their Tutor group before rejoining the children and sharing a meal together. By improving a parents sense of value and worth they are then better able to develop the same in their own children.
“I love working at Balsam Family College. I really enjoy helping families to develop new skills and learn more about themselves. It has been a great experience for my baby too, as he can come with me and interact with other children”. Roxy, College Helper.
We are looking to recruit 2 college tutors and a volunteer to help support the college. All our volunteers receive comprehensive training and are CRB checked.
